Big Sean performed to a sold-out crowed at Fox Theatre this Saturday, April 1st, along with Neisha Neshae, DJ Mo Beatz and MadeinTYO. Photos were for FM98 WJLB & Channel 955.
Big Sean’s stage design is one more the more unique sets I’ve had the change to photograph. Simple but very modern. I really like the one-point perspective going on with the lit walls behind center stage. The set design gives Big Sean a really cool depth dynamic in some of my shots that is pretty rare for most of my concert photos. Having some sort of background going on besides the black abyss of a theater ceiling is always great to work with for an interesting composition.
The fog and dim lights were cool, too, and no doubt set a great mood for the music, but absolutely tested the limits of what my photo gear and skill level can handle for a sharp shot. After a bit of editing and retouching you can see what I thought was good to publish below.
