With Northern Lights and clear skies in the immediate forecast last night, I made the last minute decision to make a 3 1/2 hour drive to The Mackinaw Bridge. Unfortunately the auroras weren’t anywhere to be seen by the time I got there. In fact, a few photographers were already in the process of packing up as I walked down to the beach – so maybe next time. However, from my vantage point, the Big Dipper constellation was directly above the bridge, so I tried for a few photos of that instead. Here are my two best shots.
