ABOUT THese PROJECTs:
A series of full-page magazine ads created for iHeartMedia Detroit to promote Channel 955’s “Mojo in the Morning” show and 106.7 The D classic rock station. Each piece combines bold, high-contrast visuals and strong typographic hierarchy to capture the distinct personality of Detroit’s hit-music and rock-radio brands. From giveaway promotions like “Win Mojo’s Camaro” to high-energy station branding, the campaign balanced pop-culture appeal with clean, eye-catching layout design suited for both print in Hour Detroit and the Detroit Lions’ Yearbook.
GOAL:
Promote two of Detroit’s flagship radio brands through high-impact magazine ads that captured each station’s personality and built stronger visual recognition across local media.
APPROACH:
I developed a unified design language using bold color fields, strong typographic hierarchy, and layered photo-illustration. For Channel 955, the tone leaned energetic and playful, celebrity-driven visuals, giveaways like “Win Mojo’s Camaro!”, and vibrant red branding to match the show’s morning-drive energy. For 106.7 The D, I pushed toward a grittier, classic-rock aesthetic with distressed textures, cracked backgrounds, and collaged album art that echoed Detroit’s rock heritage.
RESULT:
The advertisements created a cohesive, instantly recognizable print presence across regional readership, reinforcing iHeartMedia’s dominance in both pop and rock markets.
MEDIUM:
Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
